Day 3

8:43am

I woke up at 5am to a power outage that started since 6:50pm last night. The temperature in my house is normally 66-68 degrees (Fahrenheit), but it came down to 60 degrees. It was SO cold, still dark, no power… ZERO will power… went back to bed (with Sev who burrowed under my blanket). I snoozed until 7:00pm and the lights were back on then.

I took a hot shower, had breakfast, drinking coffee currently. And I’m still feeling a bit tired. I did not have a restful sleep. I think it’s because I took naps yesterday (so tired…). I tried to go to bed at 9pm, and then I woke up at 1:45am, and just fought to sleep until 5am. Google says it’ll take about 1-2 weeks to adjust to a new sleeping schedule… Right, it’s only day 3.

Yesterday, I was pretty sleepy throughout the day. I don’t know if it’s because of my sleeping schedule. Or that I’m feeling extremely content? Or going through the digital art tutorial was boring? I don’t know. The only thing that I did that got me stimulated and woke me up was playing a game of League of Legends (aram mode).

Am I so used to the stress and anxiety from work that anything else just makes me sleepy? Except for the game, which I think activates your stress response since it’s competitive and your team mates rely on you to do well (that kinda sounds like a working environment doesn’t it?)

Is it normal to be so sleepy when your stress response is not activated? It feels like a hindrance. I want energy to push through the digital art tutorials. The process went like this: I would start, then stop when I felt sleepy. Try again, and stop and do something else. I got easily distracted. Suspiciously looks a lot like procrastination… Is my perfectionism tendency getting in the way without me realizing it? Or… do I have to accept the fact that this particular activity was just too boring for me and thus is not a good fit for me? (nooooo….)

Another topic to discuss with my therapist tomorrow.
